This beautiful converted chapel near Aberdovey has been wonderfully transformed into self-catering holiday accommodation for up to 6 adults. Modern fixtures and fitting have been sympathetically combined with the traditional features of the chapel to provide a real home from home. Nestled on a quiet country lane in the mountains above this ever-popular seaside town, the property feels like a real hidden gem.
..quiet country lane..
On entering the property guests are greeted by an impressive hallway. In the afternoon sun, coloured light cascades through tall stained glass windows onto a turned oak staircase. A substantial oak door leads to the open plan ground floor living space. The kitchen, dining area and lounge are all combined into one spacious bright room. Subtly divided into separate areas guests can enjoy a cosy time on wide leather sofas in front of the large flat screen tv whilst not being completely separated by the chef in the family working hard in the kitchen. Finally, a large oak dining table and chairs sits proudly in another part of the room under large picture windows.
A separate utility room next-door houses a washing machine and tumble dryer and naturally provides the perfect space for guests to clean up after a long walk in the mountains.

Upstairs, the symmetry of the layout gives a natural flow to the bedrooms. Two double bedrooms lead off the 1st floor landing in opposite directions. Both house king sized beds and have their own en-suite shower rooms. A central corridor leads to the 3rd twin bedroom. Again this room has it’s own en-suite with a shower over bath arrangement this time. All the bedrooms like the rest of the house are immaculately furnished, spotlessly clean, bright and airy.
Beautiful Converted Chapel Near Aberdovey | Capel-Maethlon
The property sits on the side of a quiet country lane that winds its way almost unnoticed through the mountains above Aberdovey. The small field opposite the church is made available to guests, so plenty of room for any four-legged friends (and you) to run around in. But fields and mountains on all sides make the location perfect for keen walkers. One public footpath heads directly over the hill to Aberdovey itself. The popular and fashionable seaside town is less than a mile away along this route. By car, the journey is a little longer, but guests can still be at the beach in less than 15 minutes.
Here you can enjoy an afternoon crab fishing on the old wharf, build sand castles on the beach or swim in clear blue sea. Later you might like to enjoy a cream tea in a fashionable cafe, have a pint of Guinness in a cosy pub or enjoy some fresh local fish in a posh restaurant.
The yacht club is very active and that the links golf course is among the best in Wales. Kite surfing, white water rafting, sea kayaking and mountain biking are also available nearby. Tywyn and the famous Tal Y Llyn steam railway is 10 minutes to the north and the city of Aberystwyth is about 30 minutes to the south.
